Usyk made his professional debut in 2013 after winning gold at the 2012 Olympics. In 2016, he won the WBO cruiserweight title. He defeated Marco Huck and Mairis Briedis for the WBC cruiserweight title in the 2017-18 World Boxing Super Series tournament, and Murat Gassiev in the final for the WBA, IBF, and The Ring cruiserweight titles. His only undisputed title defence was a knockout victory over Tony Bellew in 2018.
