Following her return back to the set of The View, Meghan McCain said her re-entry was “rough,” however, the co-host is just happy to be doing her job again. Page Six picked up on the co-host’s appearence on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Monday where she touched on her time on the show and her recent maternity leave.
Meghan said to the host of the popular late-night show that it didn’t matter if not everyone missed her because she missed them. The star said she and the other women “we’re a family.” The 36-year-old went on to say that all of the women went to her dad’s funeral; they’ve been through a lot together over the last few years.
As fans of the show know, Meghan came back last week and Joy Behar told her that she “didn’t miss” her at all. There was a discussion as to whether or not there should be more than one political party, and the 78-year-old comic said to Meghan succinctly that she didn’t miss her, “zero,” the host remarked.
McCain told Cohen she hoped that she and the other women could be an example of how Americans can heal and move past their political differences.
According to Meghan, her situation on The View isn’t all that different from the circumstances many other Americans find themselves in. In other words, the media personality says she has to work with Joy whether either of them likes it or not, in the same way that American citizens have to live with each other despite their political differences.
Meghan says she and her co-hosts are hoping they can show how people can move into the future and let go of the past. Fans of The View know Meghan has worked as a co-host since 2017 and she and Behar have frequently taken each other to task.

In September of 2019, McCain even left the set in anger after a heated argument with Behar and the other girls.
