Lady Gaga thinks her teapot is a girl

Lady Gaga is known for her crazy outfits (I can count on one hand how many times I have seen a picture of her in anything other than her underwear) and her accessories. She is on her “Fame” tour in the UK, and her latest look includes round Elton John-like round spectacles, geisha lips, derby hats, and umbrellas. She has also been spotted carrying around a particular china teacup everywhere she goes. Well, The Sun‘s Gordon Smart wrote in his “Bizzare” column that Lady Gaga thinks her teacup is a girl and it has become “famous.”

She wanted to set the record straight about her cherished floral china and say ta-ta before heading off to Amsterdam on her Fame tour.

The Poker Face star told me: “She hasn’t got a name but she’s quite famous now, so I made her stay in today. I take her everywhere because she makes me feel at home. I used to have tea at home with my mother every day, you see.”

Er, no, not really.

I think GaGa’s blistering work schedule may be getting to her.

The chart-topper — snapped in a pirate-style hat at London’s Capital Radio — continued: “I’ve made a habit of drinking out of china because it makes me feel grounded.

“I don’t think it’s a good lifestyle to always be eating and drinking out of paper. It’s very wasteful.”

[From The Sun]

You know what’s wasteful? Changing your look every five minutes. What happens to all those old clothes? What will happen to that underwear when she finally decides to wear pants?

Also – how does carrying around a china cup make her feel grounded? She hasn’t been seen carrying this teacup until a week or so ago, so it’s clearly a prop for attention. Part of Lady Gaga’s charm is also part of what is irritating about her. She almost tries too hard to be unusual. Like the quote about her teacup. You know that she thought, “I’ll get press if I imply that my teacup has feelings.”

Here’s Lady Gaga in London on Monday (with teacup) and in Paris yesterday (sans teacup). Images thanks to Fame Pictures .
